The State Historical Museum (GIM) in the Catherine Hall hosts an exhibition of masterpieces from the collection of the Russian Museum, the basis of which is the famous series of portraits “Smolyanka” by artist Dmitry Levitsky, depicting the first students of the Smolny Institute of Noble Maidens.
The uniqueness of the exposition lies in the fact that “Smolyanka” has never completely left the walls of the Russian Museum, located in St. Petersburg.
The exposition also includes graphics from the first half of the 19th century and photographs, where you can see how the classes were held and how the Smolny Monastery, designed by Francesco Rastrelli, looked like.
Hotel “Maroseyka 2/15” invites you to the State Historical Museum, the exhibition is open until February 14, 2022!
